I have a public thread that some people have joined on Discord, and I want to ping everyone that has joined. I am nervous to use @everyone because this is not my server, and I fear that it will ping everyone on the server.
Would a plain @everyone within the public thread on Discord work? or something else?
I haven't tested it myself, but found the reddit @everyone in thread? which contains the following from TheBreadsticc:
Just tried it in a test server with a couple friends. I made a thread and pinged @ everyone, none of them were pinged. I then had them join the thread by following or typing a message in it, then did @ everyone again, and they confirmed they got the ping. Hope that helps, even if it is 2 months late haha
Where the above was posted in October 2025, so should hopefully still be valid to use @everyone to only notify those who have joined a public thread.
