Thunderbird version 140.12.0esr (64 bits) snap is messing with folders

Since a couple of versions, my email folders are not sorted alphabetically anymore:

A search told me that I should have a command to automatically sort them out, but there is not such option on my version.

I thought I could sort the folders manually and place them properly sorted. Alas, it is not working. I am unable to move one folder relative to another. (that could be a personal problem, though...).

Could you please tell me how to sort them properly ? Many thanks in advance for your help.

Note: I thought they are sorted by creation time but, no, they are not.

I spent most of my Sunday trying to tackle my problem. Someone, elsewhere suggested I delete and rebuild the global-messages-db.sqlite file and let Thunderbird re-create it. It took hours because my email folder contains a lot of messages. And, you guess what ? This was not successful.
So, I created a new Thunderbird profile, with all the accounts recreated, then I put the old messages files from the old profile into the new. And, you guess what ? It worked ! I've just to adjust a couple of things and I'm done ! Thank you all for the help and suggestions. Have a nice day.
